TRAI Launches Network Anubhav Platform to Map Connectivity
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India launched a geospatial dashboard to monitor network performance and a web interface to help consumers manage spam communications.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India launched the Network Anubhav Platform on November 4, 2026, to provide a geospatial and analytical view of national connectivity. The platform aggregates crowdsourced data from the MySpeed and MyCall mobile applications and combines it with independent regulatory drive audits on an interactive map. Users can analyze upload and download speeds, call quality, and coverage levels across various technologies, including 5G, 4G, 3G, 2G, and fixed broadband.
The dashboard utilizes percentile benchmarks, such as P50 median speed, to offer visibility into on-ground user experiences. While the regulator uses this data for evidence-based monitoring of service standards, telecom service providers can access specific coverage and quality data through a secure interface to identify geographic sectors requiring infrastructure optimization.
Alongside the dashboard, the regulator integrated a web interface for the Do Not Disturb (DND) framework, allowing subscribers to manage commercial communication preferences and file complaints. TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti noted that formal complaints are necessary for enforcement action against spammers and emphasized the need to educate consumers on reporting processes. Additionally, TRAI released the MySpeed Software Development Kit (SDK) to allow third-party developers to integrate network measurement tools into external applications.
