Solidigm Weighs $150 Billion IPO for AI Storage
Solidigm is considering an initial public offering as early as next year to capitalize on AI infrastructure demand and potentially raise $15 billion.
Solidigm, the U.S.-based NAND flash memory and solid-state drive subsidiary of SK Hynix Inc., is weighing an initial public offering as early as next year. The company recently conducted pitch meetings with investment banks to determine roles for the listing, which could raise approximately $15 billion.
Industry sources indicate the IPO could value the unit at up to $150 billion, potentially making it the largest semiconductor listing in U.S. history. The move is intended to provide a standalone valuation for the business and capitalize on high investor demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure. Solidigm specializes in high-capacity storage for servers and data centers and was formed after SK Hynix acquired Intel Corp's NAND memory and SSD business.
In addition to the potential public listing, the company is reportedly considering the construction of a NAND flash memory chip factory in upstate New York to expand its manufacturing capacity.
