American Airlines CEO Robert Isom Restructures Senior Management

Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines, announced a senior management restructuring on Monday to address a performance gap between the company and its primary competitors. Isom stated that the changes are intended to improve business results, operational reliability, team engagement, and the customer experience.

The shakeup adds four executives to the senior leadership team: Heather Garboden, JC Gulbranson, Caroline Clayton, and Steve Neuman. Simultaneously, Kevin Brickner, Ron DeFeo, and Nate Gatten are departing the company.

Several existing roles were expanded as part of the reorganization. Chief Commercial Officer Nat Pieper now oversees marketing and brand, while JC Gulbranson's responsibilities grew to include planning and airports. CFO Devon May assumed oversight of corporate real estate, and David Seymour took over regional operations.
