Indiana DOT Announces Bridge Repairs on I-69 and State Road 58
The Indiana Department of Transportation is implementing lane closures for bridge overlay and repair projects in Greene and Daviess counties starting in late July and early August.
The Indiana Department of Transportation is initiating two separate bridge repair projects affecting interstate and state road traffic in southern Indiana. Starting around July 31, 2026, the agency will implement lane closures on I-69 in Greene County between U.S. 231 and State Road 45 over Black Ankle Creek near Bloomfield. This project involves bridge deck overlay work, new approaches, and general repairs, with one lane remaining open in both directions. The department expects this work to continue through the end of November, depending on weather conditions.
Additionally, the agency scheduled alternating lane closures for the State Road 58 bridge over I-69 in Daviess County, near Elnora. Beginning around August 3, 2026, crews will perform minor patching and bridge deck overlay work. Similar to the Greene County project, one lane of travel in both directions will remain open. This second project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions.
