Iran Launches Missile Strikes on U.S. Bases in Kuwait and UAE

The Military of Iran launched missile and drone attacks on September 3, 2026, targeting the Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait and the Al-Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. Iranian officials stated the strikes targeted fighter aircraft hangars, equipment depots, and satellite communication systems belonging to the United States military.

The Government of Kuwait condemned the strikes as a direct threat to its sovereignty and security, asserting its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The attacks follow a period of regional escalation triggered by U.S. strikes on Iranian targets, including rocket launchers in the Strait of Hormuz and a strike in Kuhestan, Iran, that reportedly killed four civilians, including children.

The conflict has extended to maritime assets in the Strait of Hormuz, where U.S. forces targeted Iranian radar systems and air defenses. Additionally, an attack on a Saudi-flagged tanker in the waterway resulted in the deaths of two Filipino crew members, prompting the Government of Saudi Arabia to call for a return to negotiations.
