Samsung to Launch Intelligent Eyewear AI Glasses in November
Samsung Electronics will release screenless AI glasses in November, featuring Google Gemini integration and designs from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
Samsung Electronics will launch its first artificial intelligence glasses, branded as Intelligent Eyewear, in November. Developed in collaboration with Google, the device utilizes the Android XR platform and Google's Gemini AI to provide speech translation, directions, and photography. The glasses lack a visual display, instead relying on a built-in camera and microphones to capture data that is processed via a connected Galaxy smartphone and delivered through integrated speakers.
To compete with Meta's Ray-Ban line, Samsung designed the frames with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to be lightweight, targeting a weight up to 5 grams lighter than Meta's 51-gram base model. While official pricing remains unannounced, leaks suggest a cost between $349 and $499. The device has already received approval from the Federal Communications Commission, and a separate model featuring a color display is expected in late 2027.
To mitigate privacy concerns regarding covert recording, the glasses include internal and external LEDs that signal when the camera is active. Samsung will disable the camera if the external indicator is obscured, a decision following consultations with South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission and the Ministry of Science and ICT. This launch comes amid a surge in the display-less AI glasses market, which saw shipments increase 263 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2026.
