Samsung Boosts Galaxy Z Fold8 Production by 1 Million Units

Samsung Electronics is increasing Galaxy Z Fold8 production to nearly 4 million units following record-breaking pre-order demand in South Korea and the United States.

Samsung Electronics increased its production target for the Galaxy Z Fold8 by 1 million units, raising the 2026 total to nearly 4 million units. The decision follows record-breaking pre-order demand for the Galaxy Z8 series, which has surpassed previous records including those set by the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ in 2019.

Global pre-orders for the series are estimated between 4.7 million and 5.2 million units. The standard Z Fold8 accounts for approximately 2.9 million of those orders. Strong demand was concentrated in South Korea, where the Z Fold8 represented 70% of the 1.44 million Z8 pre-orders, and in the United States, where pre-orders rose 30% over the previous generation.

This surge has resulted in inventory shortages for specific configurations and anticipated delivery delays. Analysts suggest the high volume may be driven by consumers seeking double storage benefits to avoid rising memory semiconductor prices.
