Brookfield Asset Management and the Qatar Investment Authority have agreed to invest £2.5 billion ($3.4 billion) in a data center project in partnership with UK power generator Drax Group Plc.

The project's initial phase is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2028. This phase will produce up to 100 megawatts by utilizing an existing grid connection at a Drax power station in northern England.

Future phases of the development will expand capacity by drawing power directly from the 2.6 gigawatt biomass generators operated by Drax Group Plc.
