Amazon Tops Fortune Global 500 as TSMC Enters Top 100

Fortune published its 2026 Global 500 rankings on July 30, revealing a shift in the world's largest companies by revenue. Amazon claimed the top position, displacing Walmart, which had held the first spot for 12 consecutive years. Other technology firms ranked high in the overall list, with Apple placing sixth and Nvidia ranking 28th.

Taiwanese companies showed significant growth in the 2026 list. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) entered the top 100 for the first time, rising 44 positions to rank 82nd with US$122.26 billion in revenue. This climb is attributed to the surging demand for advanced semiconductor chips. Wistron Corp. recorded the largest overall jump of any company, climbing 298 places to rank 198th with US$70.18 billion in revenue.

Other Taiwanese firms appearing on the rankings include Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn), Quanta Computer Inc., Pegatron Corp., and WT Microelectronics Co.
