Bahrain Minister Urges Industrial Integration Among GCC Countries

Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah called for deeper industrial integration and unified environmental standards among GCC nations to build a resilient regional economy.

Bahrain's Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, called for deeper industrial integration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries during the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026. Speaking at Exhibition World Bahrain, Bin Dainah argued that closer cooperation in manufacturing, logistics, and energy is a strategic necessity to build a resilient regional economy and expand access to international markets.

As part of this vision, the minister proposed the launch of a unified GCC-wide recycling initiative designed to treat industrial waste as secondary resources. He further urged the harmonization of environmental standards across the region to ensure member states meet global sustainability requirements.

To demonstrate the viability of such partnerships, Bin Dainah cited the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company as a successful model of combining regional resources and expertise. The company is jointly owned by SABIC, Petrochemical Industries Company, and Bapco Energies.
