Activision Announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Dates

Activision Blizzard Inc. and Infinity Ward LLC announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch globally on October 23, 2026. The game marks the first entry in the series for a Nintendo console and will not support PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Following Microsoft Corporation's acquisition of Activision Blizzard Inc., the title will feature content parity across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.

The beta testing period is split into two phases. An early access beta for pre-order customers on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S runs from August 21 to 25, beginning immediately after the Call of Duty: NEXT livestream on August 21. An open beta follows from August 28 to September 1, adding support for the Nintendo Switch 2. Because pre-orders for the Switch 2 version do not begin until August 26, those players are excluded from the first beta weekend.

The beta will feature 19 weapons and several modes, including Search & Destroy, 3v3 skirmishes, large-scale tactical battles with tanks, and the Training Mobility Course. It also introduces Kill Block, a modular mode that reconfigures the battleground every match. Pre-order customers will also receive early access to the campaign starting October 16.
