DayOne Plans $5 Billion IPO Amid AI Infrastructure Shift
DayOne plans a November IPO to raise up to $5 billion, while competitor SB Energy postpones its listing due to regulatory and valuation concerns.
DayOne, a Singapore-based data center operator backed by Coatue and Hillhouse, plans to launch an initial public offering in November. The company expects to make a public filing in mid-October and may seek to raise up to $5 billion at a valuation of approximately $20 billion.
This move occurs as the AI infrastructure market matures and investors increase scrutiny of customer diversification and power security. While DayOne moves forward, SB Energy Global Holdings Ltd. has postponed its own IPO. The SoftBank-backed operator is addressing questions from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and investor concerns regarding its $60 billion valuation and heavy reliance on OpenAI.
Other industry participants are also preparing for public markets. Switch has filed confidentially for an IPO, while Vantage Data Centers and CyrusOne continue to explore listing options. Meanwhile, SoftBank Group is seeking $10 billion in debt to further fund its investments in OpenAI.
