Wells Fargo Names Scott Powell as Next Chief Risk Officer

Wells Fargo announced Wednesday that Chief Operating Officer Scott Powell will transition into the role of chief risk officer. Powell is scheduled to take over the position in January, succeeding Derek Flowers, who will retire from the company at that time.

Powell has served as the bank's chief operating officer since late 2019. His professional background includes previous leadership positions at JPMorgan Chase and Santander Holdings USA.

The bank stated that it will appoint a successor for Powell's current role as chief operating officer in the near future.
