Consumer and Business Confidence Rise in Türkiye and Denmark

Government agencies in Türkiye and Denmark reported increases in both consumer and business confidence indices for August 2026.

Economic confidence indicators improved across both Türkiye and Denmark in August 2026, with both nations reporting simultaneous gains in consumer and business sentiment.

In Türkiye, the Turkish Statistical Institute reported that the consumer confidence index rose 1 percent to 90.8, driven by improved household financial expectations and current financial assessments. Concurrently, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye noted that the Real Sector Confidence Index increased 1.2 points to 102.4, supported by positive assessments of production volume, total orders, and export orders, though the general business outlook remained a drag on the index.

Similarly, Statistics Denmark reported that Danish consumer confidence reached a six-month high, improving to -13.1 from -14.7 in July. This shift was primarily fueled by better expectations for household finances over the next year, although consumers still expect price increases and rising unemployment. Danish business confidence across the construction, industry, services, and retail sectors rose to 106.7, the highest level recorded since April 2022.
