Uddhav Thackeray Leads Ram Raksha Protest Over Temple Funds
Uddhav Thackeray leads a Shiv Sena (UBT) protest in Mumbai demanding accountability for alleged theft and misappropriation of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
Shiv Sena (UBT) party chief Uddhav Thackeray led a Ram Raksha protest in Mumbai's Dadar area on July 5, 2026. The demonstration, held near the Hanuman Temple at Dadar Kabutarkhana, centered on allegations of misappropriation and theft of donations and offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
During the event, protesters recited the Ram Raksha Stotra, Hanuman Stotra, and Hanuman Chalisa. Thackeray and party leader Sanjay Raut accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of failing to ensure accountability for the funds and remaining inactive while the party took to the streets.
The agitation follows a series of political setbacks for Shiv Sena (UBT), including the departure of senior leader Sachin Ahir and the defection of six Members of Parliament to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
