Marks & Spencer Deploys Digital Shelf Labels via Vusion
Marks & Spencer is replacing paper price tags with Bluetooth-enabled electronic shelf labels using Vusion's Connected Store platform to modernize retail operations.
Marks & Spencer is modernizing its retail locations by replacing traditional paper price tags with Bluetooth-enabled electronic shelf labels. The retailer is implementing this upgrade through a partnership with retail technology firm Vusion, utilizing its Connected Store platform.
The initial deployment is occurring in several new stores, with the possibility of a wider rollout in the future. The new digital labels use e-paper screens to display pricing and product information that can be updated remotely via the cloud. Some models incorporate AI inventory monitoring cameras and restock alerts, while location-aware features allow labels to flash to help staff find products.
Marks & Spencer stated the technology is designed to help connect store systems, product information and colleague activity more effectively. Vusion CEO for UK & Ireland Roy Horgan noted that the platform aims to improve operational execution and provide infrastructure for future innovation.
