Croatia Approves Tesla Full Self-Driving Software Rollout
Tesla expanded its supervised Full Self-Driving software to Croatia as it seeks broader European Union approval to compete with Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturers.
Tesla announced Tuesday that Croatia has approved the rollout of its supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) software. This latest approval follows similar decisions by Slovenia, Belgium, and the Netherlands, where the Dutch regulator RDW approved the system in April.
The automaker is expanding FSD across Europe as a critical strategy to increase sales and recover market share from Chinese electric-vehicle competitors. While the RDW is proposing a bloc-wide approval for the software, several European Union member states and a safety group have raised concerns regarding the system's ability to exceed speed limits.
A vote to allow the rollout across the entire bloc requires a qualified majority of 15 member states representing 65 percent of the population. That vote, originally scheduled for October, has been delayed and is not expected to occur before December.
