Czechia Inflation Rises to 2.5 Percent in September

The Czech Statistical Office reported that consumer price inflation in Czechia rose to 2.5 percent year-over-year in September, marking the highest level in five months. This figure exceeded the expected rate of 2.4 percent and represents an acceleration from the 1.9 percent increase recorded in August.
Energy and motor fuels drove the increase, with inflation in those sectors jumping to 5.9 percent from 2.3 percent. Services inflation saw a slight increase to 4.6 percent, while prices for goods rose 2.1 percent. Deflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages eased to 3.5 percent, compared to 4.3 percent in August.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices remained flat, defying market expectations of a 0.1 percent decline.
