VA Increases 2027 Veteran Benefits by 3.6 Percent
The Department of Veterans Affairs will increase monthly benefits for disabled veterans and military retirees by 3.6 percent starting in 2027.
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs announced a 3.6 percent cost-of-living adjustment for 2027, which will increase monthly benefits for disabled veterans and military retirees. This rate matches the adjustment set by the Social Security Administration, which determines annual increases based on inflation rates from the third quarter of the preceding year.
The 2027 increase represents a rise in the adjustment rate compared to previous years, surpassing the 2.8 percent raise in 2026 and the 2.5 percent raise in 2025. For retired military members, the adjustment translates to a $36 increase for every $1,000 of retirement pension.
The raise applies to all benefits earned through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
