Good Good CEO and President Resign After Ad Backlash
Good Good CEO Matt Kendrick and President Joe Flannery resigned following a controversial advertisement that led Callaway to terminate its partnership with the golf collective.
CEO Matt Kendrick and President Joe Flannery stepped down from Good Good on Wednesday following a severe backlash over a controversial advertisement produced with Callaway. The ad featured co-founder Garrett Clark pushing female member Alexis Miestowski to the ground while telling her, "Do not touch my new driver."
The content triggered immediate corporate fallout. Callaway ended its partnership with the YouTube golf collective, and various retailers removed Good Good products from their shelves. Additionally, the group was forced to withdraw as a title sponsor for an upcoming fall PGA Tour event.
In an effort to stabilize the company, Good Good terminated its head of marketing, Jeff Lefkovits, and another marketing employee. Co-founder and early investor Nahid Giga has been appointed interim CEO, while Alex Puchala remains in his roles as COO and CFO.
