Lululemon Restructures Leadership to Combat Slumping Sales
Lululemon athletica inc. appointed new executives and cut senior staff to improve its competitive position following a period of disappointing sales.
Lululemon athletica inc. announced a major restructuring of its senior leadership team on October 7, 2026, to address disappointing sales and improve its competitive position. Heidi O'Neill, the company's CEO, stated the changes aim to place product, design, and innovation at the center of operations to create a stronger pipeline of differentiated products.
As part of the overhaul, the company created two new roles effective October 26. Maggie Gauger, the former CEO of Athleta, joins as President and Chief Product Officer, while Joseph Godsey, formerly of Walmart Canada, joins as Chief Operating Officer. Lululemon is also currently searching for new officers to lead brand, communications, and technology.
The restructuring includes the departure of Chief Brand and Product Activation Officer Nikki Neuburger and Chief Supply Chain Officer Ted Dagnese, both of whom will leave the company on November 6. Gap Inc., the parent company of Athleta, confirmed Gauger's departure and appointed Erika Everett as the interim CEO of the Athleta brand.
