Aston Martin Debuts Valhalla Spider Hypercar in Las Vegas
Aston Martin unveiled the Valhalla Spider, an open-cockpit hybrid hypercar producing 1,064 horsepower, at the Wynn Concours in Las Vegas.
Aston Martin debuted the Valhalla Spider, an open-topped variant of its mid-engine hybrid hypercar, at the Wynn Concours in Las Vegas. The 2028 model year vehicle was developed in collaboration with Aston Martin Performance Technologies, the consulting arm of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team, building on the original hypercar's co-development with Red Bull Racing.
The Spider retains the coupe's plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with three electric motors to produce 1,064 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds. To maintain performance in an open-cockpit configuration, the manufacturer implemented revised active aerodynamics, stability control calibrations, a modified roof scoop, and a clip-on wind deflector.
Top speeds depend on the chosen roof configuration. A carbon-fiber hard top enables an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph, while the standard stowable fabric roof caps speed at 124 mph. The vehicle also features frameless dihedral doors and new carbon-fiber Touring Seats designed for improved comfort. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
