Ukraine Plans Combat Laser Deployment Within Three Months

Ukraine will deploy Tryzub combat laser weapons to the front lines within three months to intercept FPV drones and Shahed UAVs.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to deploy combat laser weapons to the front lines within two to three months to counter aerial threats, including Shahed UAVs and FPV drones. Brigadier General Andrii Lebedenko, deputy commander-in-chief, stated that these systems will be more effective than machine guns for neutralizing aerial targets.

The primary prototype, known as Tryzub, is being developed through a collaboration between the military and Celebra Tech. The systems are a component of a multi-layered defense strategy intended to achieve a 95% drone interception rate.

Technical specifications for the Tryzub system have varied. While military officials previously claimed engagement ranges up to five kilometers, Celebra Tech disclosed in May 2026 that the trailer-mounted system currently destroys FPV drones at 800 to 900 meters and reconnaissance UAVs at approximately 1,500 meters.
