9th Circuit Court Reinstates $4.7 Billion NFL Verdict
The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated a $4.7 billion antitrust verdict against the NFL regarding Sunday Ticket overcharging.
The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated a $4.7 billion jury verdict against the National Football League on Friday. The ruling follows an antitrust class action lawsuit alleging the league overcharged subscribers of its Sunday Ticket game telecasts for more than a decade.
This decision overturns a previous ruling by a California lower court judge who had thrown out the 2024 verdict. While the appeals court restored the original jury finding of liability, it ruled that the NFL is entitled to a new trial specifically to determine the final amount of damages.
