The Government of Saudi Arabia expects its space economy to grow from $8.7 billion in 2024 to $31.6 billion by 2035. This projection comes from the Digital & Space Sustainability Report 2026, published by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission with support from the International Telecommunication Union.
The strategy focuses on integrating satellite technologies to improve water management, disaster response, and climate monitoring. This expansion is part of a larger digital push; the digital economy contributed 15% to the national GDP in 2024, and the country earned the highest global score in the 2025 ICT Development Index. Data from the General Authority for Statistics further indicates a 20% increase in AI adoption among Saudi businesses between 2024 and 2025.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al Swaha stated that the Kingdom is committed to using artificial intelligence and digital innovation as enablers of sustainable development. These efforts align with the Saudi Green Initiative to drive economic growth through advanced digital infrastructure.
