UAE Raises September Fuel Prices Amid Global Oil Volatility

The UAE Fuel Price Committee increased retail petrol and diesel prices for September 2026 following a surge in global crude oil prices.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced retail price increases for petrol and diesel effective September 1, 2026. The adjustments follow a climb in global crude oil prices, which exceeded $90 per barrel, driven by military volatility in the Middle East.

Diesel experienced the most significant jump, rising from Dh3.80 to Dh4.30 per litre. Super 98 petrol increased to Dh3.80 from Dh3.60, Special 95 rose to Dh3.69 from Dh3.49, and E-Plus climbed to Dh3.61 from Dh3.41 per litre.

Market instability is attributed to military exchanges between the United States and Iran. These include a U.S. strike on Iranian forces on Larak Island and subsequent Iranian attacks targeting U.S. bases in Jordan. The United Arab Emirates has set fuel prices based on global averages since transitioning away from subsidies in 2015.
