Russia Intensifies Kyiv Airstrikes as Summer Offensive Slows

Russian forces intensified air raids on Kyiv killing approximately 50 people while Ukrainian drones target deep inside Russia amid a stalling Russian summer offensive.

The Federal Government of Russia increased airstrikes and air raids against Kyiv, resulting in approximately 50 deaths and hundreds of injuries according to local reports. Moscow escalated these attacks to exploit specific vulnerabilities in Ukrainian air defenses. Despite the aerial campaign, Russian advances on the battlefield are slowing, and the spring and summer offensive has failed to capture significant territory.

In response, the Government of Ukraine has deployed drones to strike deep inside Russian territory. Russia is also experiencing fuel shortages within its domestic market.

Both sides appear unlikely to surrender. Ukrainian forces continue to resist Russian aggression and the threat of forced acculturation facing their population, which includes 1.6 million children currently living in occupied territories.
