Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah is attending the 9th National Security Strategies Conference in New Delhi on August 24 and 25. The two-day hybrid event brings together more than 850 officers from various police and security forces to address contemporary national security challenges.
The conference agenda focuses on the role of hostile external actors and their domestic links, alongside narcotics trafficking and terror financing. Participants are deliberating on the illegal use of encrypted communication apps, counter-terrorism efforts, and the security of civil aviation and ports. The sessions also cover strategies to combat Left Wing Extremism.
This annual gathering was established following a 2016 directive from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The initiative aims to leverage the experience of domain experts and grassroots officers to develop solutions for major security issues facing the country.
