AerCap Orders 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner Jets

AerCap Holdings N.V. ordered 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jets from Boeing to address the rising demand for modern, fuel-efficient widebody aircraft. This acquisition increases the company's 787 Dreamliner portfolio to approximately 140 airplanes, securing its status as the world's largest owner of the 787 model.

The agreement includes substitution rights that permit AerCap to switch to the larger 787-10 variant. This alternative model offers 50 additional seats and reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 25% compared to the aircraft it replaces.

AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly stated the transaction allows the company to provide customers with greater access to a versatile airplane family. Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope noted that the continued investment in the Dreamliner family enables superior economics for airlines and improves long-haul connectivity.
