Noel Tata will retire as Vice Chairman and Director of Titan Company on November 12, 2026. The move follows Tata Group governance guidelines and the Companies Act of 2013, which mandate a retirement age of 70 for Non-Executive, Non-Independent Directors.
While Titan Company confirmed the departure in a November 5 exchange filing, Tata is also stepping down from the boards of several other group entities, including Trent, Voltas, Tata Steel, Tata Investment Corporation, and Tata International. He will, however, remain a Tata Trusts nominee director on the board of Tata Sons.
The retirement occurs amid reported tensions between Tata and Tata Sons regarding the proposed public listing of the holding company and the reappointment of Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
Separately, Titan Company reported strong second-quarter financial results for FY 2026-27. Consolidated net profit rose 113.7% to ₹2,393 crore, while revenue increased 10.1% to ₹20,614 crore. Managing Director Ajoy Chawla attributed the growth to the jewellery, watches, and eyecare divisions.
