Wizz Air Reports September Passenger Growth to 7.78 Million

Wizz Air increased September passenger numbers by 24.2 percent to 7.78 million while setting a revenue target of 10 billion euros by 2030.

Wizz Air reported a 24.2 percent year-on-year increase in passenger numbers for September, carrying 7.78 million travelers. This growth followed a 25.3 percent increase in capacity, with the airline offering 8.46 million seats during the month. While the load factor dipped slightly to 92 percent, the company attributed the change to improved trading conditions and a stronger pricing environment.

For the 12 months ending in September, total passenger numbers rose 19 percent to 79.33 million. The airline recently raised its second-quarter revenue outlook following strong summer performance. However, the carrier reduced planned second-half capacity by 5 percent to mitigate risks associated with geopolitical uncertainty and fuel price volatility.

Looking toward fiscal 2030, the airline established medium-term targets to reach 10 billion euros in revenue. The company aims to operate 335 aircraft and carry 127 million passengers by that time.
