Democrat Zach Mullock Wins New Jersey House Seat

Democrat Zach Mullock won a previously safe Republican House seat in New Jersey after Representative Jeff Van Drew conceded the race.

Republican Representative Jeff Van Drew conceded his New Jersey House seat to Democrat Zach Mullock following the Tuesday night elections. Van Drew contacted Mullock to concede the race before the Associated Press officially called the result.

Early vote totals show Mullock leading with 52.1% of the vote compared to 46.9% for Van Drew. The victory marks a significant shift for the district, which was previously considered a safe Republican stronghold. Van Drew had held the seat since 2024, when he won with 58.1% of the vote.

Democratic confidence in the contest grew in the final weeks before Election Day. This momentum was supported by financial and strategic funding from the Democratic super PAC Project 218.
