AstraZeneca and Oracle Partner to Integrate AI in Healthcare

AstraZeneca and Oracle Health and Life Sciences launched a global collaboration to use AI and cloud infrastructure to accelerate clinical research and patient care.

AstraZeneca and Oracle Health and Life Sciences have entered a global collaboration to integrate artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and real-world data into clinical research and care workflows. The partnership focuses on optimizing clinical trials, improving early diagnosis, and enhancing drug-safety monitoring across several sectors, including oncology, rare diseases, and respiratory and immunology.

The companies signed a non-binding term-sheet agreement to implement these projects across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. The first initiative will launch in Abu Dhabi in partnership with M42, where it will focus on clinical trial recruitment and hypertension care.

To ensure privacy, the collaboration will utilize deidentified real-world data, and AstraZeneca will not receive patient-identifiable information. The partnership combines the scientific and regulatory expertise of the biopharmaceutical company with the AI-enabled clinical capabilities and cloud infrastructure provided by Oracle.
