U.S. Envoys Plan Visits to Kyiv and Moscow

Special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner may visit Kyiv and Moscow within 10 days to resume efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and intermediary Jared Kushner may travel to Kyiv, Ukraine, and Moscow, Russia, within the next seven to 10 days. The proposed trip seeks to renew diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine after a period of stalled negotiations and a shift in U.S. focus toward the Middle East.

Trilateral talks involving the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia last took place in Geneva in mid-February. A planned follow-up meeting was postponed following U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. While Witkoff and Kushner have met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on several occasions, neither has visited Kyiv to date.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously criticized Moscow, claiming Russia delayed negotiations that could have reached a final stage.
