Pushkar Singh Dhami Announces Kishau Dam Benefits and Mining Revenue Growth

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the Kishau Dam project, which spans Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, will provide electricity and drinking water to Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi. Speaking in Dehradun, Dhami stated that the project would assist in cleaning the Yamuna River, which he believes will naturally lead to the cleaning of the Ganga.

Dhami also reported a significant increase in state mining revenue, which rose from approximately Rs 300-350 crore to over Rs 1,200 crore. He attributed this growth to state efforts to curb theft and illegal mining. In recognition of this performance, the Government of India awarded Uttarakhand a Rs 200 crore incentive.

These announcements coincided with Dhami's birthday celebrations, during which he visited the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities.
