Apple Schedules Pro and Tell Event to Unveil Touchscreen MacBooks

Apple will host a Pro and Tell event on October 28 in Los Angeles to debut its first touchscreen MacBook Pro and other M6-powered hardware.

Apple Inc. will host a product event titled Pro and Tell on October 28, 2026, in Los Angeles. The event, announced by Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Greg Joswiak, is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT and is expected to follow a product-experience format for media and influencers rather than a traditional streamed keynote.

The centerpiece of the event is the debut of the first-ever touchscreen MacBook Pro in 14-inch and 16-inch models. These laptops will feature OLED displays, a thinner and lighter chassis, and the Dynamic Island interface. While the high-end models are expected to use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, they may carry a price increase of up to $500. The decision to include touch functionality reportedly followed an internal clash between the industrial design team and executives Tim Cook and John Ternus, who believed customers expected the feature.

Other anticipated announcements include an M6-powered iMac and a base 14-inch MacBook Pro featuring the M6 chip. Apple is also expected to unveil an updated iPad mini equipped with an OLED display and an A20 Pro chip, featuring a landscape-oriented front camera. These launches follow recent releases of the iPhone Duo and HomeView hub. Retail availability for the new hardware is expected to begin on November 6, following a retail floor reset on November 5.
