AMD Reports Record $11.5 Billion Revenue Driven by AI
AMD reported record second-quarter 2026 revenue of $11.5 billion, fueled by a 107% surge in data center sales despite a decline in gaming revenue.
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. reported record revenue of $11.5 billion for the second quarter of 2026, representing a 50% increase year-over-year. This growth was primarily powered by the data center segment, which generated $6.7 billion and now accounts for 58% of total quarterly revenue. The segment's 107% year-over-year increase was driven by strong demand for EPYC server processors and Instinct AI accelerators.
Other business units showed mixed results. The Client business grew 23% to $3.1 billion on Ryzen processor sales, while the Gaming segment fell 31% to $779 million due to higher component costs and lower semi-custom sales in the console cycle. The company posted a net income of $2.3 billion and a 54% GAAP gross margin.
AMD projects third-quarter 2026 revenue of approximately $13 billion. While financial results and guidance exceeded market consensus, the stock price declined as investors expressed concern over flat gross margin guidance and a Helios ramp calendar that may shift significant revenue into 2027. Despite this, the company expects the data center AI accelerator and server CPU markets to grow by over 45% and 50% annually, with demand for Helios currently tracking ahead of forecasts.
