Air India to Move JFK Operations to New Terminal 6

Air India announced it will move its operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Terminal 4 to the new Terminal 6 beginning in 2028. The airline is the 16th international carrier to commit to the facility, joining other Star Alliance partners to create more seamless passenger connections.

As part of the relocation, the airline will open its first flagship Maharaja Lounge in North America. The 9,100-square-foot post-security space is intended to support the airline's broader transformation following its 2022 privatization, which includes an order for 600 new aircraft and updated cabin products.

Terminal 6 is a central component of a $19 billion redevelopment project led by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and JFK Millennium Partners. While the first gates are scheduled to open in 2026, the project is expected to reach full completion by 2028.
