Wayfair Reports Strongest Quarterly Sales Growth Since Pandemic

Wayfair reported third-quarter net sales of $3.42 billion, driven by double-digit growth in the U.S. market and a shift to net income.

Wayfair reported its strongest quarterly sales growth since the pandemic for the third quarter, with net sales rising 9.7% to $3.42 billion. The company exceeded analyst expectations of $3.38 billion in revenue and 79 cents per adjusted share, delivering 93 cents per share.

Growth was driven primarily by the United States market, where revenue rose 11.4% to $3.05 billion. In contrast, international sales declined 2.3% to $380 million. The company shifted to a net income of $62 million, reversing a $99 million loss from the previous year.

CEO Niraj Shah attributed the performance to gaining U.S. market share within a flat category. CFO Kate Gulliver credited the growth to a combination of repeat customers, the opening of new physical stores, a new high-end furnishings line, and a strategic focus on affordability.
