The Trade Desk Lays Off 15% of Workforce
The Trade Desk CEO Jeff Green announced layoffs affecting over 500 employees as part of a restructuring to increase company agility and speed.
Jeff Green, CEO of The Trade Desk, announced the layoff of 15% of the company's workforce, a move estimated to affect more than 500 employees. Green stated the downsizing is part of a restructure to organize the company into smaller pods and smaller scrums to increase agility, focus, and speed.
The decision follows a period of financial instability characterized by a share price decline of approximately 70% over the past year and disappointing quarterly performance, with revenue growing only 3% year-on-year. The company has also managed significant executive turnover and recently settled a high-profile fee dispute with Publicis Groupe in June.
Despite the workforce reductions, Green maintained that the company remains healthy. He reported that The Trade Desk holds approximately $1.5 billion in cash and carries no debt on its balance sheet.
