Amazon Pledges €16 Billion Investment in Germany for 2027

Amazon will invest over €16 billion in Germany by 2027 to expand its cloud computing, AI, satellite internet, and media infrastructure.

Amazon.com announced plans to invest more than €16 billion, approximately $18 billion, in Germany in 2027. The commitment, delivered at the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin, focuses on expanding the company's cloud computing, artificial intelligence, satellite internet, and media businesses.

As part of the plan, Amazon Web Services will receive €4.8 billion to expand its Frankfurt cloud region and AI infrastructure. The company also intends to develop the Amazon Leo satellite broadband network, produce new content for Prime Video, and open a second robotics and AI research lab in Berlin. These initiatives and new logistics projects are expected to create over 3,000 jobs.

This announcement follows a €10 billion investment pledged in June 2024. Since 2010, the company has invested a total of over €100 billion in Germany.
