Vivo Launches S2 Smartphone in India for Premium Mid-Range

Vivo launched the S2 smartphone in India on August 6, 2026, marking the return of the S-series lineup to the Indian market. Positioned for the premium mid-range segment, the device is priced at ₹39,999 for the 128GB model and ₹44,999 for the 256GB model, with sales beginning August 11 via Amazon, Flipkart, and the company's online store.

The smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor. It is equipped with a 7,050mAh battery supporting 44W FlashCharge, a 50MP Sony primary rear camera, and a 32MP front camera. The device runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and holds IP68 and IP69 durability ratings.

Launch bundles include bank cashback, exchange bonuses, and a partnership with Jio providing 18 months of 5TB cloud storage and access to Google Gemini Pro. Geetaj Channana, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of Vivo India, stated that the return of the S Series responds to a shift where young consumers seek premium experiences without flagship pricing.
