Lawrence Wong Warns of Global Tech Market Correction
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong cautioned that the current global technology rally will inevitably face a market correction and urged the government to capitalize on current growth.
Lawrence Wong, the Prime Minister of Singapore, warned that the global technology rally driving regional economic growth will inevitably face a market correction. Speaking Thursday at the Forbes Global CEO Conference in Singapore, Wong stated that while the timing and nature of the correction remain unknown, no economic boom is indefinite.
Wong noted that the government does not know who the casualties will be when the correction occurs. Consequently, he announced that the Government of Singapore intends to use the current window of opportunity to strengthen its economic position before trade momentum cools.
