K. Annamalai's We The Leaders to Contest Local Polls

K. Annamalai, founder of the We The Leaders (WTL) movement and former Tamil Nadu BJP president, announced that his organization will contest the upcoming local body elections in Tamil Nadu. Speaking in the Tiruvarur district, Annamalai stated that WTL is preparing leaders across all 234 Assembly constituencies to promote clean, people-oriented politics.

Annamalai, a former Indian Police Service officer who left the BJP in June, intends for the movement to eventually transform into a formal political party. He views the local body polls as a mechanism to establish a foundation for potential participation in the 2031 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

During a tree-planting event in Mannargudi, Annamalai said the movement will field candidates in the upcoming local body polls and "certainly bring change in society." He added that the organization wants to "bring changes in every village."
