Eurostat reported that the euro area unemployment rate remained unchanged at 6.4 percent in July. The total number of unemployed individuals held steady from June at 11.264 million, though this figure represents an increase of 175,000 people compared to July of the previous year, when the rate was 6.3 percent.
Youth unemployment experienced a slight decline, falling to 14.9 percent in July from 15.0 percent in June, a reduction of 26,000 people. Across the broader European Union, the unemployment rate remained stable at 6.1 percent, marking a slight increase from the 6.0 percent recorded a year prior.
