The UK government will provide 315 million pounds in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan over three years to support health, education, and climate resilience.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office announced a 315 million pound aid package for Afghanistan to be distributed between 2026 and 2029. The funding will be allocated at a rate of 105 million pounds annually and delivered through international organizations.

Deputy Foreign Secretary Hamish Falconer stated that the assistance will target critical humanitarian and development needs. Priority areas include health and nutrition services, education, the protection of vulnerable groups, and the strengthening of livelihoods to improve resilience against climate change.

Falconer noted that the package reflects the scale of need in Afghanistan and ensures the country remains one of the largest Official Development Assistance programs managed by the United Kingdom.
