Yogi Adityanath and Congress Clash Over Ayodhya Fish Feast

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Indian National Congress are locked in a political dispute after a video surfaced showing fish being prepared at a welcome program for UP Congress chief Ajay Rai in Ayodhya. The event took place during the holy month of Sawan, leading local religious figures and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to accuse the Congress of double standards for visiting the Hanumangarhi temple before attending the feast.

Adityanath condemned the party's conduct, stating that even a chameleon would feel ashamed of them. BJP MP Ashok Bajpai further accused the Congress of practicing appeasement politics and displaying an anti-Hindu character. In response, Ajay Rai denied eating fish, asserting that he is a vegetarian and challenging the Chief Minister to produce photographic evidence of him consuming the food, offering his resignation if proof is provided. Rai defended the menu by noting the event was organized by the Nishad community, for whom fish is a traditional food.

Congress MP Pawan Khera dismissed the controversy as a diversion intended to shift public attention away from critical issues, including paper leaks and the alleged theft of donations in Ayodhya. Separately, Khera addressed a meeting between Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru, stating that the Congress party opposes industrial monopolies rather than specific industrialists.
