BNY Launches Digital Asset Agency and Deploys AI Employees
BNY launched a digital asset transfer agency for 24/7 settlement and deployed 180 AI digital employees to automate core financial operations.
BNY launched a digital asset transfer agency to bring fund books and records on-chain. This initiative enables 24/7 settlement and increases mobility for money market funds as part of a broader expansion into digital asset capabilities. To support this growth, the firm entered a collaboration with Galaxy to provide staking for assets under custody.
Beyond blockchain integration, the company is scaling its use of artificial intelligence by deploying approximately 180 digital employees. These AI agents handle custody queries, payment repair, and client onboarding under human supervision. This push toward automation is led by CEO Robin Vince, who has championed the internal deployment of AI.
These technological shifts coincide with a period of organic growth for the firm, which has reported ten consecutive quarters of expansion. BNY continues to target growth in the wealth segment, active ETFs, and private markets, maintaining this trajectory despite prevailing industry-wide fee pressures.
