Iran Proposes Removing Export Barriers to Three Neighbors
Iran is reviewing regulations to remove export barriers to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq to support exporters facing logistics and transportation disruptions.
The government of Iran is reviewing trade regulations and proposing new measures to eliminate export barriers to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq. Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Hamid Ghanbari announced the initiatives following the 12th meeting of the Economic Relations Coordination Headquarters, which focused on trade diplomacy and the growth of non-oil exports.
The proposed revisions aim to assist exporters who have struggled to fulfill commitments or complete raw material imports due to ongoing transportation and logistics disruptions. Relevant Iranian government agencies have already approved the proposed changes to existing procedures.
Iran plans to implement these solutions through negotiations with foreign counterparts, using its embassies and consulates to manage the follow-up process. While the government seeks to maintain current export levels and expand non-oil trade, it has not yet disclosed specific implementation timelines or the exact nature of the regulatory measures.
