Bank of America Launches AI-Powered Meeting Journey for Advisors
Bank of America deployed an AI-driven suite for Merrill and its Private Bank to automate client meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up tasks.
Bank of America has launched the AI-Powered Meeting Journey, a technology suite for Merrill and the Bank of America Private Bank designed to automate the planning, execution, and follow-up of client meetings. Developed in partnership with Salesforce and Zoom, the system integrates Meeting Prep for consolidating client insights, Meeting Summarization for real-time note-taking during virtual calls, and Meeting Follow-Up for generating documentation and tasks.
The initiative provides 15,000 employees with tools like a conversational CRM assistant and a daily to-do list. The bank reports that meeting preparation time has dropped from 45 minutes to a few minutes, with some estimates suggesting total savings of up to four hours per meeting. During its beta phase, the tool saw its fastest adoption rate among 1,500 advisors.
This deployment is part of a larger strategy supported by a $13.5 billion annual technology budget, with $4 billion dedicated to new initiatives. Executives state the goal is to use AI for administrative efficiency rather than direct investment advice, allowing advisors to scale their businesses and capture a projected $124 trillion wealth transfer from baby boomers. By reducing routine research and documentation burdens, the firm aims to mitigate a forecasted industry shortage of 100,000 advisors and shift capacity toward proactive client engagement.
